Question 2) How does your media product represent particular social groups?

how does our thriller show gender?
within our thriller we show the relationship of boys and girls together. our film subverts the stereotype of dominance by the male because our film shows an even relationship between the two main characters.

age
Within our film there are only young people and it aims to show the way young people feel and live by incorporating modern technologies such as Facebook.

Are young people shown in a positive way?
The young people in this film are shown as happy teens having a good time experiencing a relationship and not causing any trouble. i would say the representation subverts the stereotype older people seem to put on the younger groups of people.

what classes are shown?
Within our film through the  people shown are working class. they are all students who live normal life within a working class background.

SexualityIn our thriller the only sexuality represented is heterosexual. it is the story of a "straight" couple and there are no stereotyped homosexual characters or any at all. the film shows how much of an integer part of young people life social networking is to keep up relationships.

Stereotypes within our film our main actress; shelby is blonde however fights the dumb blonde stereotype and comes across as mature and rational.

Question 1) in what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?(conventions of the thriller genre)

Within our thriller movie 'SENT' we used two of the major thriller conventions firstly number 2). within our thriller we dropped lots of clues as to what  may happen and olayed around withe order to make it slightly complex and create the feeling of confusion. secondly we used convention number 11). in our thriller our protangonist ( Billy the boyfriend) is maliciously attacked from behind whilst on his computer.

I feel that our thriller is rather unique and cannot really be compared to to any films currently out. however the on film we looked at ' i know what you did last summer' has the teenage age group incorporated within it which is what we aimed to do to attract our target audience.

A key factor that our film incorporates is the Crime at the main point of the film. the place where this occurs within SENT is when Billy is murdered by louise. a vie which incorporates a murder is 'phsyco'.

Editing After Feedback

Today we showed our teacher what we have. The feedback we received was about the way we ordered our film. We are going to re-edit and re-order it to create more suspense and make it more confusing with hints as to what will happen.
